Etsy Diversity is Driving Traffic and Investors to a Site Which is More than Trinkets

Hedge funds usually generate some pretty intense yet risk-reward returns over the long run and it’s not for the faint of heart.  And while we typically think of stocks like Etsy (NASDAQ: ETSY) sharing some bearish thoughts for investors.

Some of the top hedge-friendly stocks have seen an average of  29.6 hedge funds with bullish positions and the average amount invested in these stocks was around $1389 million. In the case of Etsy, that number hovered around $1436 million. And while Etsy certainly isn’t a well-publicized hedge fund darling, interest remains well above average.

It’s an exciting place for a stock representing what many refer to as a trinkets repository on the web.  In actuality, Etsy is a monster and continually growing U.S. e-commerce company that focuses on, yes, handmade trinkets.  From jewelry, bags, clothing, home décor and furniture, toys, art, and craft supplies and tools, Etsy has become a one-stop-shop for people looking for unique and handmade items from people who are given their own Etsy storefront.  The average “storeowner” makes around $200 a month and $81 million used it in 2020.

The other exciting aspect of Etsy is its diversity.  Many black-owned businesses have thrived on Etsy.  USA Today recently featured seven top-rated black-owned companies they encouraged people to support, including:

From Atlanta-based creator Erin Carter, this ethereal-inspired shop is a fan-favorite on Etsy. The verdict? She’s a five-star seller regularly praised for her impressive and high-quality designs, with two of our favorites being the Black Marble Decorative Arch and Concrete Pillar Candle.
